According to Amtrak's American Recovery and Reinvestment Act documents available on its website, 15 P40 locomotives, 60 Amfleet cars and 21 long distance cars were to be restored to service. This page includes the equipment listed in this document, along with the originally-intended repairs. Many of these cars and locos were in a "stored dead" or "wreck" status, hence were not included in the count of active equipment on other pages of this site in 2009. Beginning with the June 2010 Monthly Report, Amtrak broke out some previously-performed minor overhauls of equipment as "Stimulus" repairs. Those cars are not listed on this page. The time for use of Stimulus funds expired in 2011. Some cars were not repaired as originally planned. |
