  Construction projects along Torontos St. Clair Avenue to impact streetcar service, TTC says    

 
 
 
Streetcar service along a portion of St. Clair Avenue will be replaced by buses beginning next week due to construction projects, the Toronto Transit Commission (TTC) says.

 
The TTC said beginning on Sept. 3, multiple construction projects will take place along St. Clair Avenue and at St. Clair West station.

Nicole Kamel can only watch from her store window as buses bunch behind one another, snarling traffic and blocking access to her business along a stretch of St. Clair Avenue West.

 

The streetcar on this stretch of St. Clair shut down last month for a year of maintenance work.

    Toronto’s Busy Streetcar Route to Be Replaced by Buses for Extensive Construction Work  

 

 

Riders on Toronto’s popular 512 St. Clair streetcar route will need to adjust their travel plans for the next year. Starting this Sunday, the streetcar service will be temporarily replaced by buses as the Toronto Transit Commission (TTC) embarks on an extensive construction project.

    TTC streetcar service to return to St Clair Ave. on June 23   

 

 

Streetcar service along St Clair Ave. is returning next week after shuttle buses replaced the route last fall for construction work.
