   DeSoto getting closer to adding an Amtrak stop 

 

 

The City of DeSoto has been trying for the past few years to add an Amtrak station. After a few years of delays due to the pandemic and other reasons, they are close to getting the official word from Amtrak. DeSoto City Manager Todd Melkus says things continue to move along in the process.

The city of De Soto, Missouri, in Jefferson County, has been approved for a new passenger rail stop on Amtrak’s Texas Eagle line. The De Soto City Council recently approved a funding plan for a new Amtrak stop.
