SEPTA is bringing back the historic green and cream trolleys on Route 15 from Port Richmond to West Philadelphia on September 10.
We have a return date now. You may be able to spot some of them (not sure if they are the ones already rehabbed or waiting for the process) sitting in the Elmwood Yard, visible from passing Amtrak trains (or the SEPTA line to Delaware). The story

Put your patience caps on — SEPTA still has no set return date for their 1940s-era trolleys
Riders eager for a nostalgic journey on SEPTA's refurbished PCC trolley cars will have to keep waiting. The transit agency says the rebuilt cars are still being road-tested and aren’t ready for prime time yet.

A move to bring back classic streetcars to Philadelphia streets has been delayed until spring.
PCC Trolleys from the 1940s have been refurbished in SEPTA’s repair shop, but the transit agency’s Andrew Busch said they haven’t had enough “break-in time” to be put back into service on Route 15.
“So if there’s an issue with the electrical system or with anything on board the trolley, we could address that within those first 200 miles.”

SEPTA's historic trolleys to return to Philadelphia's Girard Avenue
PHILADELPHIA (WPVI) -- SEPTA's historic Girard Avenue trolleys are finally coming back on the tracks this weekend.
The restored 1947 trolleys, which provide service from Port Richmond to West Philadelphia along Route 15 on Girard Avenue, will be moving again starting June 16. The line makes 64 stops along 8.5 miles of tracks.
"People love them, they do. It brings back old memories of when they were kids and they would ride them, 'Oh I remember that I went to school on one of them!'" says SEPTA technician Michael Rogowski. "Everybody I talk to loves them. There isn't a person that doesn't. That's what makes it worth the while."
